Gallbladder Removal, Fats & Digestion (Warning: graphic image)

WARNING: Article contains a graphic image of gallbladder containing gallstones.

The dietary guidelines promoted by USDA the past 50 years or so was a low fat, high carbohydrate diet. We see the results of this advice. Obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer rates are at all time highs. Additionally, gallbladder removal surgery is one of the most common surgeries performed. 700,000 of these surgeries are performed each year in the USA, many unnecessarily. * It is a $14 billion dollar a year surgery. (Figure estimated at $20,000 each.)

Healthy fats are required to empty the gallbladder. Chronically low fat diets are partially responsible for sluggish biliary systems. When the gallbladder becomes sluggish from lack of use, in conjunction with other imbalances, and incomplete emptying, the congested bile may form stones. Overtime, these stones may block bile ducts, irritate tissue and fill up the gallbladder, creating pain and impaired digestion.

The liver creates bile to emulsify fats and stores it in the gallbladder. When fat is eaten, a healthy gallbladder contracts, secreting liquid bile necessary for emulsification. Other organs (pancreas, stomach, mouth) produce lipase, the enzyme needed for the break down of the emulsified fat for absorption in the small intestine. If the gallbladder is removed, the body is unable to completely digest and utilize these fats for health. Proper digestion of fat is absolutely necessary for brain function, healthy cell membranes, communication between nerves and to make hormones. (Essential fatty acids [EFA] are essential because the body cannot produce them and they are required for optimum health.)

It is a shame that many doctors do not educate gallbladder surgery patients about the health consequences for living without gallbladders. Or teach patients how to keep gallbladders and livers functioning properly to PREVENT these problems. Doctors teach that gallbladders are not essential and normal lives can be lived without them. While it is true our bodies do compensate for the lack, it is ignorant to suggest that an optimally healthy life can still be lived without one. It is equally tragic that these same patients are not equipped with alternatives to help them after surgery, or given optional alternatives to try before surgery is attempted.

I begin each day with a hot cup of water to which I squeeze juice from half an organic lemon, which helps get the bile flowing, followed 15 minutes later by digestive enzymes. I then eat my breakfast, an hour later drink KetonX, 2-3 hours later eat the Dough Bite with leafy greens, a little protein and some fat. Three hours later I take the FIXX. If I am able, I add ground flaxseeds, Pink Himalayan salt, chia seeds and cream to this. Three hours later I eat dinner comprised of deep leafy greens, vegetables, protein and additional healthy fats. Before eating fatty foods at any time of day, I like to take more digestive enzymes. This has helped me avoid bloating and nausea and has helped me adjust to the higher fat content in my diet.

If I did not have a gallbladder, I would immediately begin supplementation with ox bile and high dose of lipase. I would add an homeopathic opening the channels program to open all elimination pathways.  I would also increase my fiber consumption. A high fiber diet has been shown to reduce the risk for developing gallstones. (Gallstones can still be produced without a gallbladder). Dough Bites contain 18 grams of fiber per serving and are a delicious way for increasing daily fiber in addition to consuming more vegetables.  I would also add beets to my diet as well. Beet juice contains a natural source of betaine, which supports healthy fat digestion.

If you need access to high quality digestive aids such as those mentioned above, please call me for an over the phone consultation and recommendation OR fill out this web form.

In conclusion, chronic diseases are increasing. These statistics will continue to rise as long as Americans continue to follow USDA low fat, high carbohydrate food pyramid as their dietary guide. Hundreds of thousands of gallbladder surgeries are performed each year, leaving unequipped patients with a limited ability to emulsify and digest fats. Adding lipase, ox bile and increasing dietary fiber at every meal containing fat is essential for supporting these patients' health. Beginning each day with warm lemon water and appropriate digestive enzymes, can support healthy liver, gallbladder and GI tract function.

Results 10 Day Reset

Have you been waiting? My daughter had a baby the day my first 10 Day Reset was finished. WHAT A CELEBRATION! Not only did I get to welcome grandbaby # 3 into this world, I finished the Reset Program with flying colors.

Our newest family member. Isn't he beautiful?

Results? Lost 4.25 inches and 2.6 pounds. Two inches are gone from my waist! I feel energetic, alert and successful. YAY me.

We had a Business Opportunity and Taste Test gathering at my house this week. I squeezed into a size 10 jean which I have not been able to wear comfortably in a very very long time. I could hardly believe I could get them on again. I showed off the unflattering muffin top for an illustration. The next time I wear those pants in public they will actually look flattering on me.

Over the summer I bought a cotton dress from Goodwill, even though it was way too tight for me then. I actually had to pour myself into it and almost could not get it off. I was afraid it would tear on the way off.  I wore that dress to church this week. It was loose. It looked great. Ask my church ladies.

I wish I would have taken a picture in that dress the day I bought it. I did not put it back on until Sunday and was pleasantly surprised to see how well it fit.YAY.

Today I began the second 10 Day Reset Program. I expect to have continuing progress. I will see about getting the before and after shots posted soon. In the meantime, here are over 6 pages of B&A photos of other people as posted on my web site.

Now you know my results. It works! Get your own box(es). The company is about all caught up with  the back orders. A new order should get to you within 2-3 weeks.

WEIGHT MANAGEMENT BUSINESS FACTS:

By the way, in 2010 weight management was a $16 Billion dollar industry. According to Small Business Chron,  "With 72.5 million Americans older than 20 years old categorized as obese, it is recognized as a national health threat and a major challenge." Over 30% of Americans are considered obese.**

Because Ketopia is a patent protected and REVOLUTIONARY weight loss program, and our company has exclusive worldwide distribution rights, any business-minded person will recognize the HUGE market opportunity here, especially since we have not yet reached critical mass nor momentum.

Let's get busy helping people reach their health goals from carbohydrate, glucose riddled, insulin resistant, inflammatory supporting eating habits to the ketogenic, energy efficient, fat burning, inflammation fighting lifestyle with Ketopia.

Day 6: Get There!

OH WOW and WHOO WEEEEE!! Ketopia has a slogan, "You'll know when you're there."

Believe me when I say, "You wanna be here."

I KNOW I am there. Yesterday I was there all morning during my Business Network International (BNI) meeting. I felt ablaze with life and energy. I felt amazing. So this it what being 'there' is like.

Ketopia Utopia: You'll Know When You are There

This morning, I woke up being "there." I feel like cartwheels inside.

I feel like a young girl in a beautiful dress who spins to show it off. It is an energy aliveness. A thrill. A sense of well-being. There is clarity. Energy. Inner beauty and all is well. Look at me! Whee.

No one likes trying on clothes that do not fit, are uncomfortable, or are unflattering. But when you find "the one," there is nothing quite like it, right, Ladies? That is what being "there" feels like for me.

I also lost another pound.

Loving that, too. Most of all, I am loving that I am no longer addicted to sugar, or gluten, or carbs. I FEEL VICTORIOUS over my appetite and taste buds.

This Reset Program is resetting my metabolism, my appetite, my mindset and eventually, my finances. This program will literally change the weight loss world. Ketones are a macronutrient that everyone needs and should be on every food label.  Read more about that here.

The first few days were challenging. I was used to eating boatloads of fruit all day long. I was used to eating cookies or cake at night or before dinner to keep me going. Not ideal. Not even close. I know the damage sugar and elevated blood sugar has on a body. (Read more about that here.)  Knowing it and being able to break the cycle are two different things.

The first couple of days I felt nauseated. I know now my sodium and potassium levels were down. I added extra potassium foods and pink Himalayan salt to my regimen. This no longer happens to me. I am so happy I pushed through this and overcame. (nausea and headaches are rare but if you are one that has them you can know your body is getting reset and the program is working.) IT IS WORTH IT.

Now that I am "there" I am so happy to welcome anyone else to come "here"and be "there" with me. There is nothing quite like it.

Waiting?

Everyone is different. I am a menopausal woman who is a recovering a carb-o-holic. I have lost and found the same 20 pounds over and over again for the past 20 years. At the other end of the spectrum is uncompensated ForeverGreen spokesman, David Kimmerle, who is a  professional body builder/model/actor who is on cover after cover of workout magazines.  In 5 days on Ketopia, he was cover shoot ready. For me, 5 days on Ketopia looks a lot different.

Married couple Joy and Dave use it too. Dave's extra fat came off seemingly easily. Joy's came off, too, but not quite as fast. (See yesterday's post).

We all use Ketopia. We all get different results. You will get results, too. What your results will be is any one's guess.

David Kimmerle.

What I am seeing from testimonials from others using Ketopia is this: extremely overweight men lose weight fastest.

Are you waiting to hear how it goes with me before trying Ketopia for yourself? Why? Everybody is different. If you could lose the weight without making any changes by yourself, you would have by now. You gotta buy some and see for yourself.

But if you are waiting to taste test Ketopia, then please come to the taste test in Hampton, VA  on Monday, October 12 at NOON or 7 PM. Please let me know you are coming so I can have enough samples and chairs prepared (OK to bring friends with you). Ask for address. Text me at 757-9 three 2 dash 00 six 3. Learn more about the product, the company and the business opportunity. It will be less than one hour.

This is a reset program. It resets the body from glucose burning (which it got really good at since its easiest) to ketone burning. The enzymes required for ketone burning differ from the enzymes needed for glucose burning. So your "factory" has to kick out the old "workers" before bringing in a different labor force. It is like having a company that manufactures cars suddenly change into a factory that produces radios. The auto workers do not have a clue how to manufacture radios. So they get fired and a new work force must be brought in to get the job done. How efficiently that happens depends upon the individual "factory."

Since I began Ketopia five days ago, I am down 1.8 pounds and 2.25 inches. Two and a quarter inches looks way different on me than it does on David Kimmerle. Then there are the intangible results I am getting, too. I am no longer ruled by my cravings and appetite. I love the feelings of "aliveness energy," mental clarity and "friskiness". (That is code for increased libido). YAY!

Lessons learned the hard way? Eat. Do not forget to eat regularly. Do not be afraid to eat fat.  Eat the right type of fats. Eat every 3 hours. Stay hydrated. Increase both potassium (coconut water for me) and Celtic Sea or Pink Himalayan salt consumption to avoid electrolyte imbalance. Do not obsess over the keto sticks. (There are many ways to determine if one is in a state of ketosis.) Do not compare yourself with David Kimmerle or any one else.

We are all different. Results will vary. Get it and try it for yourself. Get compensated for sharing it, too!

Getting Fit with you,

Day 3 Determination

Has anyone ever said,"Determination is the stuff dreams are made of?" If not, I just said it.

Decision, Effort, Determination, Persistence. All of these are required. Doing something new in front of God and everybody is very difficult for me, yet here I am, completely immersed head to toe. I did not jump in with both feet. I went all in based upon the results of other people I saw succeeding PLUS the "OMG-I -want-that-for-me, -too" factor.

Joy's results

No change since last weigh-in.  Joy's results will be my inspiration for the day.

What the before and after photos do not show is the very real mental struggles. "Can I do this? Is it working for me? What if I fail?" They do not show the mental comparisons between me and another person. "How come that man lost 10 pounds in a week, and I did not?"  We do not consider the very real life, behind the scene scenarios. At least I do not. I just see what I want and go for it full blast ahead, one step at a time, as the next step presents itself, without thinking much or talking much about it.

Joy's husband, Dave.

Because I chose to do this in public, I am forced to write about it openly. Maybe it will help you persevere. Maybe it will help you become more successful by avoiding my mistakes. Maybe I can inspire someone.

The past 2 days I have gotten busy and did not eat regularly. Honestly, this happens more often than I would like to admit. Sunday I ate dinner after 9 pm after not having anything to eat since 2:00pm. Not good for blood sugar levels. Not good for weight management. Skipping meals slows metabolism. Yesterday I was trying to upload 2300  (not an exaggeration) photos from old cell phone onto my computer to make room for a super nifty, make network marketing simple app for my business. (If you are on my team, ask me about it.) I forgot to bring the single pack pouch of FIXX meal replacement drink with me. I could have easily mixed it with water at the office. It travels well, blends easily and tastes great. I ended up not eating anything from noonish to about 5:30 pm.  My mood suffered for it.(sorry, honey.)

On any wellness plan, not regularly eating enough food and calories,  and not eating enough fat on the ketogenic lifestyle, hinders results. (Refer to Ketogenic Common Mistake # 6 Fear of Fats.

On a positive note, I do have much more mental clarity. I do feel energetic. I am not exhausted when I go to bed but my eyes are heavy, sticky, and feel sleepy. I have no carb cravings, which is a miracle for me, a recovering carb-o-holic.  I do not miss the cakes and cookies. That Dough Bite is a wonderful substitute and it is filling and satisfying. (Unlike the bag of cookies that leaves me wanting another bag). Yesterday the pee stick registered ketones.

There is progress being made. I am grateful. I am ready for Day 4. I am determined. Determination is the stuff dreams are made of.

The Morning After Day 1

I downloaded a book onto my Kindle yesterday called Ketogenic Diet: Ketogenic Diet Mistakes You Need to Know by Sarah Givens. Mistake #2 is scale watching, # 3 is Measuring Ketones. If you recall in yesterday's post, I shared that my urine stick did not register excess ketones. Yet, I still lost a little more than one pound at the time of weigh-in first thing this morning.

The author states that measuring ketones on ketone measuring sticks is only one way of determining ketosis. The accuracy of this depends upon many things. These levels naturally rise and fall throughout the day and are affected by salt and water consumption. She states that many newcomers to ketogenic diets become obsessed with these urine keto sticks.

Tell me about it. I tried it twice yesterday. Both times, no ketones showed up on the strip. I thought,"It did not work." Until I read this book and then saw that I lost 1.2 pounds.

Measuring blood ketones is more accurate than urine measurements but I am NOT going to buy a finger pricking ketone measuring device. No thanks.

Givens says there are other ways to see if one is in the state of ketosis:

  1. sweet, fruity or metal taste in mouth
  2. loss of food cravings
  3. weak odor of acetone on skin or breath
  4. increased mental clarity
  5. euphoria or general sense of well-being
  6. reduced appetite
  7. stronger smelling urine
  8. more energy
  9. increased thirst
My food cravings are gone. I feel great. My mind does not feel cloudy. My urine is smelling  a little stronger than usual and I am thirsty. I have not been as hungry.

All good signs.

I am glad that I do not have to obsess over the keto sticks. As long as I am losing fat inches and adding health benefits, the sticks don't matter to me ANYMORE.

I thank God for books!

Day One: Anticipation

My arms feel abuzz with nervous energy and excitement. Today is day one. It is the first day of public accountability; transparency like a tree shedding it's leaves for all to see what is underneath. Did I say public? Yes. Nervous excitement is definitely there.

Image found on 365Daysofinspiration.wordpress.com
WHAT TRANSPARENCY FEELS LIKE

The rain from the now out to sea Hurricane Joaquin has stopped for now. I hear the motor hum from the neighborhood water pump station. All is well. God answered our prayers to turn the storm out to sea. He certainly can answer this one, too.

"Help me, Lord."

I like hiding. It feels safer there for my inner introvert. In spite of that, today I come to play full out in front of God and everybody. Here it goes...

Last night I made final changes to MyFitness Pal (MFP) on the computer (based on the numbers from www.kimmerleplan.com BMR calculator). The MFP app is running on my smart phone. All measurements, weight and goals have been recorded on a Ketopia 10 Day Reset Program record sheet. All set.

Reset #1 Before

I got a solid 8 hours sleep last night. I felt rested, though sleep was still in my eyes as I had decaf keto coffee, and drank my favorite multi-vitamins and digestive enzymes (to help with fat digestion). An hour later I prepared the KetonX drink with 10 ounces water. As I emptied the powder packet into the glass, a pleasant orange aroma met my nose.

This drink has to be made fresh each time or it loses it's effectiveness. (If I opt to drink half the KetonX in the morning and the other half in the afternoon, I will need to make each half fresh just before consuming it. This means I would need to save half the powder to mix in with half the water later.)

image found on my upline's web site.

At first taste I spied stevia, orange and slight saltiness. The second sip was smoother. I think I might like to try a little cream in it tomorrow instead of having the keto coffee. But it tastes fine the way it is. It is not thick like a smoothie. It is more robust than pulp-less juice. I can do this.

I have never timed myself to drink or eat anything before. Ketopia guidelines suggest taking 30-45 minutes to sip on this drink. It made me slow down. What a great time to write, listen to podcasts, to pray, to read, or to think! I love slow mornings. I suppose if I needed to get out the door, I could mix it in a to go bottle then sip it on the run.

BNI Peninsula Prosperity BNI is #1. Just sayin.'

My mouth felt kind of dry after drinking the last bit of KetonX. WATER. Must have water. I will sip on water all day and keep track of water consumption in My Fitness Pal.

So far, so good.

I got hungry 2 1/2 hours after KetonX but did not make the Dough Bite until a half hour hour later, when I was finished with a business call. (RABBIT HOLE: My upline trainer, Dave, gave me the idea to buy a domain name that forwards to a nifty exclusive XTribe Building System web page for my home based business, simplifying the networking part. See www.simplebusiness.us to see part of what I mean).

Scrumptious. Delicious Dough Bite. You wanna try this!

I slathered on butter and ate some Brazil nuts and peanuts with the Dough Bite's crunchy yumminess. My Fitness Pal let me know that I over spent  on calories with the peanuts. Next time,I will add the food I intend to eat onto the app first, then look at total before I eat, so I can be sure I do not overdo it. (The app makes it simple to delete foods once added.)

I am full, warm, happy and satisfied.

So far so good.

My 30 minute work out felt good. I went on the ecliptical thingy at the gym then came back and made FIXX with 8 ounces of water and 2 TBSP fresh, raw cream and ice, added it to the snack category on MFP app, and enjoyed it thoroughly. I am full.

So far so good. YEAH. This is not hard.

I forgot about the Peetopia sticks that checks for excess ketones in the urine until hours after taking the KetonX drink. When I used one, I did not have ketones in my urine. I would imagine that is probably because of last night's last hurrah: a large piece of double chocolate cake PLUS and additional 3 chocolate cookies that I ate. Why did I do that to myself? The fear of deprivation, maybe? Oh my.

ketone checker sticks AKA: "Peetopia Sticks"
Not mine. Got this pic from upline's web site

Prepare the body for Ketopia they said. Begin to cut back on sugars and carbs they said. Did I do that? Nope.I had one last blaze of carb craziness. Sigh.

Dinner: Leftover herbed and garlic pasture raised chicken legs, with fresh steamed mustard and  turnip greens, with spring onions and serano peppers. Raw salad made from argula greens, fresh picked tomato and cucumbers with parmesean cheese, olive oil and raspberry kombucha dressing.

I am not really hungry for dinner right now. It is cooking and will be finished soon. On a positive note, I have no carb cravings. The chocolate cake has been staring at me from the kitchen counter all day, (thank you, dear husband)  and I do not want it. That is pretty cool.

I feel energetic. I feel excited.  I am hopeful and expectant.

My sister is proud of me,  my mom, my daughter, and boat loads of friends all want to know how the Ketopia 10 Day Rest will go with me. So this is my Day One.

What will your day one look like? Try it and see.

Bariatric Surgery VS Ketopia

Many people are desperate to lose weight, which is evidenced by increasing numbers of people who consider liposuction and bariatric surgeries, after trying toxic medications, group therapy and extreme dieting.  Many bariatric surgery patients have no short term adverse effects other than scarring and expenses associated with the surgery. Weight is lost. But at what long term costs to health and vitality?

Click for bariatric long term risks.

The following chart shows possible short term risks for bariatric surgery and compares it to the benefits and rare side effects of Ketopia, the natural 10 day reset program which blasts fat off through nutritional, exogenous ketosis.

New Well in an Old Field

If you have been waiting for your box to arrive for 3 months and 3 weeks after first ordering it the third day after launch, the arrival of Ketopia in Newport News, VA is history in the making!

This is the UPS notice I saw this morning! It has arrived in the next city over! So close yet so far!

Just as spoken over me about 5 years ago, I am a pioneer in the field. I am digging a new well in an old field, which before had produced only dry wells.

Let me explain.

About 5 years ago, Terry and I went to a revival given by an international evangelist. I went nearly every night for 30 days. One night, Terry was called out by name in front of over 100 people by this visiting prophet.

Q: "Do you have anything to do with Texas?" A:"My massage therapist is moving to Texas." (We even traveled there and loved it).
Q: "Did you just open a business?" A: "My wife just did."

In fact, that week, a distributor kit arrived and was sitting on my living room floor for Protandim from Lifevantage, a network marketing company. My husband and I had been involved in Amway, another network marketing company, many years prior, so I thought he was talking about Protandim. (In retrospect, it was not that at all. I did not realize I had years to wait and would be digging a couple more dry wells.)

The man of God related a story about a woman who inherited an oil exploration company. The prophet told her she would dig a new well that would produce the biggest oil strike in the company's history. After 2 years of digging dry wells, she returned to the man of God and inquired again. He told her,"Go back to an old field and there will be a new well."

Image from foreignpoliciesblog.com

She returned to her office and looked over deeds to properties her father had purchased and found a parcel that had long been forgotten. It had produced dry wells in the past. But she hired new geo-engineers and they advised to drill a new well in a different spot. That well produced the biggest oil strike in the company's history. He said to Terry, "This story applies to your business."

Image from businessinsider.com

Another night during the same revival, I was called out. The man of God told me he singled me out because there was an angel by my side: The angel of Breakthrough. ( I saw even it the night before.) He said I would break through emotionally, with my family relationships and financially. With God's help, I have broken through in all these areas except one: financially. This is the area I still have great expectation: a new well in an old field that produces more than any other well in my history.

Image from magickalgraphics.com
It does not look like the angel I saw. I  do not wrap up in white bed sheets, either. LOL.

When I heard about nutritional ketosis being possible within 2 hours, I said,"Sign me up!" I knew how difficult ketosis was for me to attain by dieting alone. (Two years ago I even joined another network marketing company and did a weight loss program through that.) When my sponsor came to visit, we did a Ketopia taste test and business intro meeting using her products. I invited 25 people to come over, 16 said they would, 14 showed up and 13 either made purchases, became distributors or intend to as soon as they can put together their funds. WOW! I have already reached my first business goal: ONE STAR.

Is Ketopia my new well in an old field? By the way things are shaping up, it sure looks that way to me! So this week, I have chosen to throw myself into this heart and soul, 100%. I am a pioneer in this field. It is a new well. It is an old field. Will this be the abundant producer, the well that out produces any other well in my business history?

Stay tuned.

Dr. Carol ND

UPDATE: IT'S OUT FOR DELIVERY!!
